LKQ Corporation (Nasdaq: LKQ) today announced the release of its 2024 Sustainability Report. The report presents LKQ’s role as a best-in-class operator for investors and stakeholders while playing a critical part in the growth of the global circular economy.
A three-pillar strategy
The report reflects LKQ’s ongoing focus on profitable growth through highly efficient, responsible and ethical business practices. Its three-pillar strategy covers:
- Profitably delivering sustainable solutions
- People-led performance
- Strong governance and ethical practices
That framework helps LKQ manage risks while capturing opportunities that create long-term value, aligned with its core business of running efficient operations, reducing waste and extending the lifecycle of alternative vehicle parts.
“LKQ embodies the principle that business excellence and sustainability are fundamentally connected,” said Justin Jude, President and Chief Executive Officer. Having been part of the LKQ community for over two decades, he said, he has seen first-hand how these principles drive innovation and create value, and that the Company’s circular economy foundation is about reimagining how it can operate responsibly in the vehicle industry while delivering profitable growth.
2024 milestones
- Circular economy at scale: Processed 735,000 vehicles and sold nearly 12 million individual salvaged parts back into the circular economy.
- Lower emissions intensity: Reduced global Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 16% relative to revenue versus a 2022 baseline, through more renewable energy, fleet fuel initiatives, energy efficiency upgrades, network optimization and business integration projects.
- Community investment: Donated over $4 million through the LKQ Community Foundation to health and wellness, education, veteran and global first responder support, and environmental stewardship.
- Employee volunteering: Employees worldwide contributed time, skills and resources to more than 200 local initiatives addressing social needs, strengthening engagement and ties with local communities and customers.
