LKQ Proud To Serve – LKQ Toronto East

On Friday, November 18, LKQ Toronto East 3266 General Manager Susie Deleo and Business Development Representative Sean Bennett attended the Graduation Ceremony for the Tropicana Students enrolled in the Pre-Apprenticeship Program for Auto Body & Collision Damage Repair at Centennial College. LKQ, in partnership with 3M and G2S Tools, supplied and provided the tools and toolbox to all graduating students. One of the guest speakers at the Graduation, Mitzie Hunter, is the MPP for Scarborough-Guildwood, who also is an advocate for The Right to Repair. LKQ was acknowledged for its support of the program in helping to ensure young adults receive the education and training required to be successful in the Automotive Collision and Repair Industry.About the Program:The Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer Pre-Apprenticeship Program is tuition-free, as it is funded by the Government of Ontario. It is designed as a stepping-stone to finding a full apprenticeship for its participants. This program runs for 30 weeks; the in-class portion runs from April to August, and the work placement runs from September to November.Career Opportunities for Graduates:

  • Auto Body and Collision Technician Apprentice
  • Auto Collision Damage Estimator
  • Service Advisor
  • Parts Technician Apprentice

Program Details:

  • 6 weeks of academic upgrading TDSB/ESU and Pre-employment training
  • Level-1 apprenticeship training
    • 12 weeks of technical training at Centennial College, Ashtonbee Campus
    • 12 weeks of paid work placement at a body shop
  • Free toolkit and course materials
  • Free TTC Presto Pass during in-class school session
  • An opportunity to earn the Tropicana’s Student Success Scholarship
